Aaron Rashaw is a guitarist, educator and composer of music. He grew up in New England and studied at Berklee College Of Music. He earned a bachelor's degree in music from Plymouth University.
Aaron has taught and played music in the Salt Lake City area for 20 years. He currently teaches about 35-40 private students per week. All styles of music are welcome.  Aaron's main focus is fun, success, and growth for each student. "You have to have patience with students. Communication skills and an understanding of every student's potential is the key. We all know that playing notes fast on the guitar doesn't translate into being a great teacher."

Aaron has taught students from 6-70 years old. Although the bulk of his students are kids, has taught many college and adult students as well. Outside of his private lessons Aaron has taught group and individual guitar classes for The Institute Of Arts, Youth City Central City, Kearns Community Education and The Montessori Community School.  Aaron has taught, and prepared students for, college music school entrance exams and auditions. Locally, he has entered his students in both finger style and bluegrass flat picking competitions at OFOAM Music Festival in Ogden. Aaron encourages students to start their own bands, enter talent shows, and record their own musical creations.

Aaron is excited about music technology. "We are in an age of unbelievable educational resources for guitar and musical growth. YouTube, backing tracks, recording, Zoom online lessons, I wish I had these resources when I was a kid." Currently, Aaron is learning and implementing the technology into his own day to day music, as both a teacher and a student.

Aaron has played in many configurations, performing several different styles of music. He has played with many local musicians throughout the Wasatch Front. Venues include: Gallivan Center, Brown Bag Concerts, Utah Arts Festival, Park City Arts Festival, Ogden Amphitheater, OFOAM Music Festival, Ski Resorts, Clubs, Universities, Bars, Coffee shops, many more.  He has record with several local musicians as well. Aaron has also transcribed and engraved a songbook by Utah Phillips.

Outside of music Aaron is passionate about climbing. He has had successful (and unsuccessful) ascents of grade VI Big Walls on El Capitan, in Yosemite Valley. He has climbed many aid and free climbs in Zion National Park. He can still be found climbing locally in the Cottonwood Canyons and now in the Ogden area as well. He enjoys adventure climbing and new routing. He is also quite passionate about catching river monsters, in the city limits, out of The Jordan River. The Ogden river is now his local fishing spot. Any river will do really. His latest new/old hobby is Whitewater Kayaking. He is quickly leaning about fear.
